Frequently Asked Questions

Citizens of EU countries only need their regular EU driving licence. Non-EU visitors (e.g. UK, USA, Australia) need a valid national licence along with an International Driving Permit (IDP). Your licence must have been held for at least 1 year.

The minimum age is 21 years old. Drivers aged 21–23 may be subject to a young driver surcharge depending on the vehicle category. For drivers over 23 there is no surcharge.

Yes! We offer delivery and collection at Rhodes Diagoras Airport (RHO), Rhodes Town harbour, and any hotel or address on the island. Just let us know when booking.

A refundable security deposit is required and is charged to a credit card at vehicle collection. The amount varies by vehicle category — typically €150–€300. The deposit is released after the car is returned in good condition.

Our prices include third-party liability insurance and unlimited mileage. Optional extras such as full CDW insurance, child seats, and extra driver are listed at checkout. There are no hidden fees.

Yes, one-way rentals within Rhodes are available. Please mention this when booking and we will confirm any applicable fee.

Rhodes Drive provides roadside assistance for all rentals. In case of breakdown or accident, contact us immediately on +30 694 82 60 820.

No — our vehicles are not permitted to leave Rhodes island. Taking a car off the island voids all insurance.

Requirements

To rent a car with Rhodes Drive you will need:

A valid driving licence held for at least 1 year
A passport or national ID card
A credit card in the main driver's name (for the deposit)
Minimum age: 21 years old

Insurance

What's included by default

Third-party liability insurance (mandatory by law)
Theft Protection (TP)
Basic Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) with excess

Optional Full Insurance (Super CDW)

For an additional daily fee you can add full Super CDW that reduces your excess to zero. This is shown during booking and covers damage to the vehicle body. It does not cover: tyres, glass, underbody, interior, loss of keys, or damage caused by negligence.

                            We strongly recommend taking the full insurance for peace of mind, especially if you plan to explore mountain roads or gravel tracks.
                        

Payment

We accept the following payment methods:

Credit / Debit card (Visa, Mastercard)
Cash (Euros)
50% deposit to confirm + rest on delivery

A credit card is required for the refundable security deposit regardless of payment method chosen for the rental fee.

Cancellation Policy

More than 48 hours before pick-up: Full refund of any deposit paid.
24–48 hours before pick-up: 50% of the rental cost charged.
Less than 24 hours / No-show: Full rental cost charged.

Fuel Policy

All cars are provided with a full tank of fuel. The car must be returned with a full tank. If the car is returned with less fuel, the cost of refilling plus a service fee will be charged from the deposit.

General Terms

The renter is responsible for all traffic fines incurred during the rental period.
Smoking is not permitted inside the vehicles.
Pets are allowed only in agreed cases and the car must be returned clean.
Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited and voids all insurance.
The vehicle must not be used for racing, off-road driving, or any illegal activity.
The vehicle must remain on Rhodes island at all times.
In the event of an accident, the driver must notify Rhodes Drive and local police immediately.
